1916 Rising Centenary – First local events for East Wall , North Strand and North Wall

The first local events to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising are taking place on Friday 5th & Saturday 6th February. Held in conjunction with the Gallery of Photography (Ireland ) there will be a great opportunity to have your photos , memorabilia and documents scanned and become part of the national heritage . Local historian Hugo McGuinness will describe the local events of Easter Week 1916 , and Paul O’Brien will entertain with a new selection of songs based on the people who lived in the North Dock communities during a time of War and Revolution.
