The School Yard experience

The School Yard experience

There is an Open Evening in the school from 6.00 to 7.30 pm on Tuesday, 28th May 2013.The school yard has recently been transformed into what is now known as the ‘Yard Experience’. An invitation has been extended to adults to visit our school on the evening so that they can see for themselves the wonderful activities that are provided for the pupils in St. Joseph’s. The children will give demonstrations to adults on how to play games created by the pupils themselves.

All adults welcome to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Save Our School

Unfortunately a serious matter has arisen relating to the School. Notification was recently received from the Department of Education and Skills regarding the loss of one permanent mainstream teaching post next September.

A local school has played a central role in this community for over a century. St. Josephs is making wonderful progress and is going from strength to strength. The impact of this decision and the proposed job loss will be very damaging and is unfair on the children, their parents and the staff. This must be challenged, and we would call on everybody to sign the petition, available throughout the community – at the school, in Paddy’s on Church Rd and the Sean O’Casey Community centre.
