East Wall wins award at PRIDE OF PLACE 2012
Our community has won the 2012 PRIDE OF PLACE competition! This is a major achievement and is testimony to the hard work, dedication and sense of community that can be found in East Wall. Pride of Place is a 32 county wide initiative, with each local authority picking an area to be its representative. Our community was chosen by Dublin City Council, and it was a great honour to represent the City. The fact that we were awarded first place at a major ceremony in Limerick at the weekend shows that we lived up to all expectations. The contribution of the community was co-ordinated by East Wall For All, and was a true team effort – with so many groups and organisations in the area playing a role. We always knew we were a great community, and it is brilliant to see this being acknowledged at a major National event.
